Farmers’ Market Assessments

Farmers’ Markets are vital local food outlets for many communities across Idaho.  University of Idaho, in partnership with local farmers markets, chambers of commerce and other community organizations, have conducted farmers’ market assessments across the state for almost 20 year.  On this page, you will find many of those market assessment reports.  The majority of these assessments have used a Rapid Market Assessment (RMA) technique developed by faculty at Oregon State University.  Referred to as RMAs, these assessment are a snapshot of the market on one particular market day.  The information gathered during a RMA can help market leaders better understand their markets and customers.   While RMAs help markets gather important data related to their operations, an individual RMA does not provide a comprehensive understanding of the market performance across across a full market season.
