Workshop 1:  Expanding Your Market –Using Certifications to Build Customer Trust and Increase Sales

Clear and trustworthy food labels play a vital role in today’s market. For producers, obtaining certifications—like organic, naturally grown, Salmon-Safe—can not only enhance credibility but also appeal to a growing consumer base that prioritizes transparency and sustainability.

For consumers, clear labeling allows for informed choices, aligning their purchases with personal values and health considerations. In an era of heightened awareness about food sourcing and quality, both producers and consumers benefit from a commitment to integrity in food labeling.​

In this workshop a panel of producers and program representatives will present on different certifications food businesses can have. Following the presentations will be a question-and-answer session.

Workshop 2: How to Apply for a Business Builder Grant from the NW & Rocky Mountain Regional Food Business Center​​

The USDA’s Regional Food Business Centers are pleased to introduce Business Builder Grants, a funding program designed to strengthen and expand local and regional food systems, with a focus on historically underserved farmers and food businesses.

​

In the Northwest and Rocky Mountain region, Business Builder grants will support small- and mid-sized farm and food businesses to take important next steps in their business development and expand their markets. Grants will also support aggregators, processors, distributors, and other essential partners that farm and food businesses depend on to get to market.
